To create a new section 21 or section 8 notice (and equivalent for Wales), first log in to the Builder part of the website, choose "other forms" from the sidebar and click on "add new form" at the top right of the other forms list. Then, with possession notices selected, click continue.

This will take you to the possession notice, wizard.

The wizard helps check everything is in order before sending the notice, including (but not limited to):

- Confirm tenancy type (assured shorthold tenancy (AST), Occupation Contract, contractual tenancy, garage agreement, periodic or fixed term) and tenancy start date.
- Choose the correct notice type (Rent arrears grounds or no-reason notice) and confirm applicable grounds.
- Calculate and verify the correct notice length based on notice type and grounds.
- Check deposit protection (deposit lodged in a scheme and prescribed information served).
- Check for prohibited payments.
- Retaliatory eviction checks.
- EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) given.
- Licensing checks (HMO/selective/licence requirements where relevant).
- Gas safety record given.
- Notes information if there's a break clause.

Once you've gone through the wizard, click the link to be directed to create the relevant notice.

To create a notice, fill in all the fields shown. You can insert from a profile or a previous tenancy agreement, but this is optional.
