Membership of a Landlord Association

There are national and local landlord associations, and it can be worth considering membership. The value will depend on the landlord’s experience, portfolio, preferred way of working and the type of support included.

Membership may include regular legal and policy updates, template documents, tenancy agreement templates, training, meetings or webinars, discounts for relevant services, consultation or lobbying work, and access to individual advice when a problem arises.

Before joining, compare the membership benefits, costs, advice arrangements, document support, training, insurance or service discounts, and any policy or lobbying positions. Membership is not a substitute for specialist legal, tax, or professional advice where needed.

One example of a landlord association is the Guild of Residential Landlords.
